Effective and last updated: 3 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RegisterMe collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, installed web app, support channels and managed registration services. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to visitors, account holders, applicants, payers and people whose information is included in an application, such as proprietors, directors, shareholders, trustees and executives. If you submit another person’s details, you must be authorised to do so and must make them aware of this policy.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the service, we may collect names, dates of birth, contact details, residential and business addresses, business objectives, ownership or role information, share allocations, signatures, photographs, NIN or other identification details, BVN-related information where required, CAC records and supporting documents. We also collect account preferences, support messages, attention-request responses and files you submit.
3. Payment and transaction information
We record the payer name, email, application, amount, currency, gateway, transaction reference and payment status for reconciliation and receipts. Complete card credentials, bank login information and payment authentication data are processed by the selected payment provider and are not intended to be stored by RegisterMe.
4. Device, usage and security records
We may collect IP address, device and browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from technical data, referral source, login activity, sessions, security events, app version and interaction records. These records help secure accounts, diagnose errors, understand platform usage and maintain audit trails.
5. How we obtain information
Information comes directly from you, from another authorised applicant who includes you in an application, from payment and identity-processing partners, from relevant registries or authorities, and automatically from the device or browser used to access the platform.
6. Why we process information
We process information to provide a requested service, create and protect accounts, assess requirements, prepare and submit registrations, communicate status changes, fulfil support requests, confirm payments, deliver documents, prevent fraud, improve reliability and comply with legal, regulatory, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations. Where required, processing may be based on consent, performance of a service agreement, legal obligation or legitimate operational interests.
7. Sensitive and identity information
Identity numbers, identification documents, signatures, photographs and other sensitive application materials are used only where relevant to the requested service, verification, authorised submission or compliance. Upload only requested information, ensure documents belong to the correct person and avoid placing passwords, OTPs or complete payment credentials in forms or tickets.
8. How information may be shared
Information may be shared, as reasonably necessary, with authorised RegisterMe personnel and configured processing agents; the Corporate Affairs Commission and relevant tax, compliance or government bodies; payment gateways and financial partners selected for a transaction; messaging, email, hosting, storage, analytics and security providers; professional advisers; or law-enforcement and regulatory bodies where lawfully required. We do not sell personal information.
9. International processing
Some technology or payment providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable requirements.
10. Cookies, sessions and local storage
We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, protect requests, remember settings and support app installation. We may use limited analytics information to understand traffic and performance. Blocking essential storage may prevent authentication, payment return or other platform functions from working correctly.
11. Communications
We may send necessary account, login, password-reset, payment, application, attention-needed, support and certificate-ready messages by email, in-app notification, push notification, SMS or WhatsApp where configured. Service messages cannot always be disabled because they are needed to complete or secure your request. Optional promotional communications will provide an appropriate opt-out.
12. Storage, retention and deletion
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the service, secure document delivery, accounting, audit, dispute handling and legal or regulatory requirements. Retention periods vary by record type and application status. Deletion requests may not cover records we must retain or information already submitted to an independent authority.
13. Security
We use role-based access, private file controls, authentication safeguards, session management, encrypted transport where deployed, activity records and operational monitoring. No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials and authenticator, keep devices updated, sign out of shared devices and report suspected access promptly.
14. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and necessary verification, you may request access to or correction of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, request deletion where applicable, and ask about how your information is used. You can also update profile details, manage sessions and notification preferences, and download published documents through your account.
15. Children
The platform is not directed to children. Account holders must be legally able to use the service. A minor’s information should not be submitted unless it is lawfully required, appropriately authorised and accepted for the applicable registration process.
16. Third-party services and links
Payment pages, government portals and external communication services operate under their own privacy terms. Review those terms before providing information. RegisterMe is not responsible for an independent third party’s systems or privacy practices.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when laws, providers or platform features change. The current effective date will appear above. Material changes may also be communicated through the platform or registered contact details.
18. Contact and complaints
Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the Contact page or secure support workspace. Explain the request and use your registered contact details. We may verify your identity before disclosing information or changing sensitive records. If a concern is not resolved, you may have the right to contact the appropriate Nigerian data-protection authority.
